About Us

Our owner Sergeant Rob Ambuehl, was raised in Alief, Texas on the west side of Houston and graduated from Alief Hastings High School. He earned a BA in Criminal Justice form the University of Houston in 1997 and then joined the Houston Police Department in February of 1998.

After finishing second in his academy class, he served the community as a patrol officer for over 12 years at the Westside and Northwest stations. Wanting to expand his service, Officer Ambuehl became a field trainer teaching new officers, obtaining his TCOLE Master Peace Officer and Instructors License. He then went to the HPD Academy and trained newly hired police cadets the basics of law, arrest, search, and use of force.

After taking the Sergeants promotional exam, he became a Patrol Sergeant in 2011 serving at the South Gessner station. He became a Sergeant Field Trainer, teaching newly promoted sergeants. Eventually, he transferred to the undercover proactive unit in the Vice Division, Major Investigations unit.

During his tenure in Vice, he has attended numerous Narcotic Survival Schools, Undercover shooting schools, low light shooting courses, active shooting courses, and various other conferences and training.

Working for over 9 years as an Investigative Sergeant, he has conducted numerous operations for Human Trafficking, prostitution, gambling, liquor violations and club investigations. Sergeant Ambuehl currently runs the Tobacco Enforcement Program for HPD, conducting over 2500 operations countywide.

He currently serves as the Training Sergeant for Vice Division teaching numerous courses regarding Vice operations and Human Trafficking including : Police Cadet Intro to Human Trafficking, Human Trafficking Mandatory course, Vice Investigator School, Advanced Human Trafficking, Memorial Herman Hospital Security Human Trafficking, and Prostitution Decoy School.

Sergeant Ambuehl has his NRA Pistol Instructors Certification and Glock Armorers Certificate as well. In 2014, he obtained a Texas DPS License To Carry Handgun Instructors License and began teaching the TX License To Carry along with basic, advanced and tactical courses. In 2018, he and his wife incorporated Fort Bend Firearms LLC, obtaining their Federal Firearms License to integrate his passion for teaching, love of firearms and the 2nd Amendment.
