Training and Educational Classes.

Our 4 hour Basic Pistol course covers the basic of handgun fundamentals with an NRA and Law Enforcement certified and experienced firearms instructor. In this class the student will be instructed in aspects of handgun safety, basic handling and sighting, firearms cleaning and maintenance. Students will also learn the basic shooting stances, ammunition types,typical malfunctions, and how to safely store firearms.

After class instruction, students will put their newly learned skills to the test and participate in a live fire exercise at the range utilizing a .22 caliber pistol, which we will supply. The cost of the course is $95.00, plus range fees per person.

Students need to be dressed in appropriate clothing, which is closed-toed shoes and a closed neck shirt to avoid being burned by hot brass.

The Texas state mandated License to Carry (LTC) course consists of 4 hours of instruction in addition to the range proficiency qualification. All LTC classes are taught by an instructor certified by the Texas Department of Public Safety. In addition, the instructor is a current Texas Peace Officer, NRA and TCOLE certified with advanced training on subject matters such as the Use of Deadly Force and related Texas statutes.

At the completion of the course students will must pass a 25 question written exam and a 50 shot qualification course using a .22 caliber handgun or larger. The student must earn a score of at least 70% on the written exam and live-fire proficiency course to receive their LTC-100 Certificate of Training. The LTC course is $85.00, plus range fees per person.

Students should come to the class with the following: A working firearm you are familiar with; 50 rounds of dependable ammunition for your firearm; eye and ear protection, appropriate clothing of closed-toed shoes and closed neck shirt.

NOTE: This course does not teach fundamentals of shooting. If you are not familiar with basic fundamentals of shooting we recommend you attend our Basic Pistol course prior to enrolling in the LTC course.

Starting Sept 1, 2021 Texas HB 1927 went into affect allowing permitless carry of a pistol similar to the long standing law regarding long guns. While it allows any individual over 21 yrs to carry a pistol there are a lot of restrictions and details that can put you in violation of the law and end up sending you to jail. Don’t get caught short as ignorance of the law is not a defense!

As TX LTC Instructors we have been to DPS RSD in Austin to obtain the updates to the law and how to teach regarding it. We have designed an informational course in partnership with Texas Law Shield to educate individuals on “Constitutional Carry”.

Human Trafficking in the greater Houston Metro area is a serious problem. Houston has become nationally know as a “Hub” for trafficking. Residents in Fort Bend County are not immune! Our Instructor has worked fighting against the trafficking of persons for a decade. If you have young children, pre-teens, or even high schoolers and want to learn more, we offer this informative course.
